Ever since I was little, writing was always something I enjoyed. The first book I ever wrote was "Barbie's Swim Meet" when I was in third grade. Making up characters and stories was always something I really enjoyed. In high school, I would write during class (while I really should have been paying attention). One of my friends would read each chapter as I finished it and as much as I loved the stories I was creating, it was something totally different to hear from someone else how great it was.

My last semester of college, senior year, I had tickets to see a band that I had been a fan of for a couple of years. I had VIP tickets to meet them and it was the first time I had done anything like that. In anticipation of meeting them, I started coming up with a story in my head about what would happen if one of them met a girl at VIP and actually wanted to date her. There was a particular member in the band that was my favorite, so in my story it was him that got the girl. I started writing the story and it turned into a whole book. I had my college roommate, who was also my best friend, read it as I wrote it and she loved it.

I never thought about publishing it until a couple years after I graduated college. I didn't write it to publish it, I just wrote it because I enjoyed the world I had created for these characters. But boy am I glad I did. I actually got to give the band member who the story was inspired by, the book, and he was speechless that he was the inspiration behind it all, and that I wrote a "whole freaking book". I had also met so many girls at his concerts and a lot of them had interest in getting the book too, and after they read it told me how much they loved it.

Going the Distance is probably my most successful book, because I had a whole boyband fanbase behind me that probably could relate to the ideal of dating a boyband member. I'm so proud of it, as well as my other published books. I never went to school for writing, and the only classes I've ever taken were the mandatory writing classes in college. My main passion is dance, but writing is a close second. I couldn't imagine my life without either. I hope you enjoy reading the stories I loved creating.
